Default "Dinging"

I don't really know what to call it, signaling, perhaps,

the thing where you click the map and it dings.

Anyway, limited to 1 ding per second or something, just do something to stop the annoying 9 year old (not age bashing, it's just most people will know what I am on about) from dinging every half a nano-second and then some.

Well, I think it's useful to ping (that's the word) a few times in a row, since when you ping, it's usually urgent.
And if you only ping to show the way, the just click once, simple as that.

Lol, i prefer ding

I agree, so lets say limit it to 3 repeated dings, then have a cool down period.

That way, you wouldn't get about 15 dps (dings per second)

edit: From one person, at least.

yeah its fun but when someone starts dinging all over the map you dont know if they're telling you to go west coz they're in trouble, to go east for their quest or what. and its annoying! dinging for a good reason such as in trouble, sure, great, but if you're getting dings from all sides which do you rush to? Do you ignore them all then find someone actually needed help?

Exactly.

Besides, if you were limited to 2 or 3 DPS or something, then a party of 6 could have 12-18 Dps between them, if they want to spam, they can spam together, so they know everyone is dingspammin' to their hearts content at once, and hopefully not bugging one or more people.

I hate when people (was going to say kids, untill i saw one of the above posts ) write explitives on the mini-map, this is one of the more immature things Ive seen in this game.

Lightbulb Variable setting Ding

How about they add a variable setting for the Ding feature. No sound, 1 sec, 2 sec, 3 sec, etc...?

I like replying with "pie" or "potatoes", writing curse worts is kinda dumb tho... if you really have to let it go, just use the chat.
